According to CBD sources, Manhattan’s Kevin Leighton will be named head coach at Fordham on Monday. Leighton replaces Nick Restaino who left the program at the end of the 2011 season to pursue other opportunities. Leighton has a career coaching record of 200-119-1 in six seasons at Manhattan including MAAC regular season titles in 2008, 2009 and 2011 along with MAAC tournament titles in 2006 and 2011.
This will be a great hire by Fordham as Leighton has turned around the Manhattan baseball program with less then stellar facilites. The Fordham program currently has much better support and the facilities are second only to Charlotte in the Atlantic 10.
