NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont baseball team (38-25) defeated Troy (43-19) by a score of 5-2 to advance to the NCAA Regional Championship against Vanderbilt on Sunday afternoon. The Bruins eliminated the Trojans and will have to top the Commodores twice in order to advance to a Super Regional next weekend. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Alabama scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning en route to a season-high 12 runs to post a 12-5 victory over the Central Florida Knights in the elimination game of the Tallahassee Regional at Dick Howser Stadium on Sunday afternoon. GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Miami looked to be heading home early Sunday afternoon, but a late rally overcame a three-run deficit to defeat Jacksonville, 6-3, at McKethan Stadium in the Gainesville [Fla.] Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

On a steamy night at Hawkins Field, Vanderbilt All-American Grayson Garvin extended his tremendous junior year and, in doing so, both set a school record with his thirteenth win and pushed Vanderbilt to the brink of Nashville’s first Super Regional. Charlottesville, VA.- The Navy Midshipmen were the first to depart falling in the first elimination game of the Regional on Saturday. East Carolina kept in season alive with the 6-1 win over Navy and will face St. John’s in the second elimination game Sunday at 1:00 PM. The Cavaliers improve to 2-0 in the Regional based on back-to-back solid pitching performances by Will Roberts and Danny Hultzen. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) – In a span of three-consecutive pitches in the seventh inning, No. 2 UCF scored five runs and eventually plated 13 runs in the final three innings to defeat No. 4 Bethune-Cookman, 16-5, in the NCAA Tallahassee Regional Saturday. NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont baseball team (37-25) eliminated Oklahoma State (35-25) from the Nashville Regional with a 3-2 victory on Saturday afternoon. It marks the first ever win for a Belmont University team in any sport in the NCAA Tournament. The Fresno State Bulldogs were “rewarded” for their WAC Regular Season and Tournament Titles with a #2 seed at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
