Here is your 2011 NCAA Tempe Regional Day 3 Recap.

Arkansas 11 Charlotte 3

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Arkansas offense broke out with 11 runs on 13 hits and Razorback starter Ryne Stanek took care of the rest, throwing a complete game, allowing just three runs, as No. 19 Arkansas defeated Charlotte 11-3 on Sunday afternoon at Packard Stadium.

With the win, the Razorbacks improve to 40-21 on the season, while Charlotte closes the season with a 43-16 record. The 40 wins marks the 17th 40-win season for the Razorbacks in program history and the third straight year of at least 40 wins.

Arkansas now advances to the regional final where it will meet host school and top seed Arizona State. The Razorbacks must defeat the Sun Devils twice to advance to the Super Regionals. The two teams will meet tonight at 8 p.m. (CT). If Arkansas wins that game, the teams would play an if necessary game on Monday night at 8:30 p.m. (CT).

Arizona State 13 Arkansas 4

TEMPE, Ariz. – Another big offensive night and a strong start by Mitchell Lambson lifted the Arizona State University baseball team to a 13-4 victory over Arkansas on Sunday in the Tempe Regional championship game. The Sun Devils, now 42-16 overall, advance to Super Regionals with the win and will face either Texas or Kent State beginning Friday or Saturday.

After pounding out a season-high 19 hits and 16 runs on Saturday against Charlotte, the Sun Devils stayed hot offensively against the Razorbacks. Six of the nine starters had multi-hit games, with Joey DeMichele leading the way by going 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI.

Lambson earned the win in just his second start of the season, going 6.1 innings and allowing seven hits and four runs with nine strikeouts to improve to 7-3 on the year. The start by Lambson was his 100th appearance in a Sun Devil uniform, only the third pitcher in Arizona State history to have at least 100 appearances (Brett Bordes, 109, Kendall Carter, 102).
