LA Tech Seniors Will Alvis and Joey Ford go out in Style

Louisiana Tech swept a doubleheader from Mississippi Valley State on Wednesday night by scores of 15-1 and 5-4. The victories were not the story on the evening as Louisiana Tech honored their six seniors including Will Alvis and Joey Ford. Both Alvis and Ford completed a rare feat in the game playing all nine positions during the second game of the doubleheader including Alvis pitching a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his second save of the year.

I had heard of college players completing this feat most notably by Buster Posey in 2008. I have never heard of two teammates pulling off this feat in the same game before. Have you? Leave your comments below.

This may be a rare feat but is it not an insult to the opposing team? Unless the two coaches are friends, of course.

Interesting concept but I think Coach Simoneaux just wanted to send these guys out with a to remember things.
