Big 12 Weekend Preview (4/1-4/3)

As we enter the third weekend of Big 12 play, some teams are playing as expected, while other teams have stumbled out of the gate. Texas A&M has bolted out of the gate, defeating Oklahoma in the opening weekend, then shutting down the Jayhawks in week two, giving up only three unearned runs all weekend. Texas is tied for second in the league, getting by on their strong pitching, while battling to overcome a weak offense. Dan Spencer has his Texas Tech squad in a good position, tied with the Longhorns for second place. The Red Raiders are the opposite of Texas, a potent offense with a question mark on the mound. ACC Weekend Preview (April 1st-3rd)

The fourth weekend of action kicks off today in the ACC with the Florida State Seminoles leading the Atlantic Division and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets leading the Coastal. The Seminoles enter the weekend with a 6-3 record while both Clemson and Boston College are tied for second with identical 4-5 records. NC State and Wake Forest are tied for fourth place with 3-6 marks while Maryland rounds out the division at 1-8. The Yellow Jackets lead the Coastal Division with a perfect 9-0 record with Virginia in second place with a 8-1 mark. North Carolina is third at 7-2 and Miami is fourth at 6-3. SEC Weekend Preview (April 1st-3rd)

The SEC enters the third weekend of play with Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Florida tied for first place in the Eastern Division with 4-2 records. Vanderbilt took two out of three games in each of their SEC weekends with Arkansas and Mississippi State. South Carolina also took two out of three from Georgia and Florida. The Gators swept the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge on the opening weekend before losing two out of three to South Carolina. Georgia is in fourth place with a 3-3 record, while Tennessee and Kentucky round out the division in a tie for fifth place with a 2-4 record. Read the rest of this entry »

Big East Weekend Preview (April 1st-3rd)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. –After one weekend of play, St. John’s holds the top spot in the BIG EAST with a 3-0 record. The Red Storm highlight a full weekend of action with a three-game set against 2011 BIG EAST preseason favorite Connecticut. The two teams met in the title game of the 2010 BIG EAST Championship with the Red Storm winning 3-0. Five other series will also take place this weekend, including a battle between the top offense in the conference (West Virginia) and the best pitching staff (Louisville). Conference USA Weekend Preview (April 1st-3rd)

Missouri Valley Conference Weekend Preview (April 1st-3rd)

The Missouri Valley Conference enters its last weekend of non-conference play, with many teams looking to finalize their lineups and pitching rotations before their conference series begin next week.
