BYU vs New Mexico Suspensions Announced (VIDEO)

On Saturday afternoon, BYU and New Mexico were involved in an altercation in which both benches emptied and punches were thrown. The Mountain West Conference announced on Monday that eleven student athletes were suspended while BYU head baseball coach Vance Law was reprimanded over the incident. I wonder if the BYU Honor Code says anything about fighting in it and whether the Cougars players will face more discipline from the university. You can check out New Mexico catcher Mitchell Garver’s one finger salute below. We have also included video the brawl between the two schools and the full press release from the Mountain West Conference.

The Mountain West wishes to thank both the BYU and UNM athletics departments, led by ADs Tom Holmoe and Paul Krebs, respectively, for their cooperation in adjudicating this incident, and for their support of the MWC’s sportsmanship standards. Both coaching staffs and the game officials are also to be commended for their efforts at the time of the altercation to bring it under control.

I wonder if the BYU honor code says anything about fighting… If so, will there be additional consequences for those players?
