College of Charleston and Southern Conference Suspend Matt Heath

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference supports the College of Charleston’s decision to suspend assistant baseball coach Matt Heath for an additional two games beyond his league-mandated one-game suspension following his ejection from Tuesday night’s game. The league expects to take no further action on the matter.

Not to mention the shoving match he had with a player in the dugout this weekend after the player didn’t run out a fly ball. The scene reminded me of a Bobby Knight practice.

This is an extremely ignorant comment. Do you even know this coach? I highly doubt that he would treat a player with such disrespected. Matt Heath has a reputation for respecting players and treating them right no matter where he coaches.

I dated this guy in college for 5 years. He is a great guy and highly dedicated to the game of baseball. Matt was a passionate person on and off the field, and stands up for what he believes in. Although he did have some incidents at LSU on the field…that gave him a funny nickname, i forget the famous athlete they nicknamed him after. But all in all, he will continue to learn and grow from mistakes…maybe 🙂
