Fresno St (25-5) did not stay out of the #1 spot for very long.  Fresno St won all 3 games from Nevada this weekend to move into the top spot……..Troy (26-9) did not hold the top spot long.  Troy had a rough week this week going 1-3 and dropped to #6.  The Trojans dropped a mid week game at Jacksonville St before losing 2 of 3 at MTSU in Sunbelt play.

TCU (25-11) moves back into the #2 spot going 3-1 on week.  TCU dropped a mid week game at Oklahoma before traveling to San Diego St and sweeping the Aztecs……..Elon (24-13) moved up 2 spot to #4 after taking 2 of 3 from CofC in a big SOCON series.  Elon travels to GSU this week in series that will decide SOCON regular season probably……Texas St (23-12) moves up 3 spots to #5 with a 3-1 week.  Texas St beat Houston Baptist on Tuesday before winning  2 of 3 from SE Louisiana in SLC play.

Florida Atlantic (23-13) moves up 7 spots to #9 after going 4-0 for the week.  The Owls beat Central Florida 3-2 on Tuesday then swept Louisiana-Monroe in Sunbelt play.

Charlotte (28-8) did not have a good week going 2-2.  Charlotte traveled to St Louis and dropped 2 of 3 in A-10 play dropping the 49ers 5 spots to #10………..Another top 10 club that did not have a good week was Louisville (20-15). The Cardinals dropped to #11 after a winless week.  They lost 3-2 to Kentucky on Tuesday before getting swept at St Johns, which dropped them to just 6-6 in the Big East.

Georgia Southern (22-15) moves up 4 spots to #13 with a 3-2 week.  GSU pounded Jacksonville 20-7 on Tuesday but dropped a game to North Florida on Wednesday.  The Eagles then traveled to Western Carolina and won 2 of 3.  Eagles OF Victor Roache continues crush the ball and homered in all 5 games to give him 18 on the year……..Creighton (26-7) moves up 4 spots to #15 with a 4-0 week.  The Blue Jays beat Kansas St during the week before sweeping Indiana St on the road………Jacksonville (23-13) moves up 2 spots to #16 with a 3-1 week including a sweep of Campbell in A-Sun play.

College of Charleston (23-14) struggled again for the 2nd strait week going 2-3 and falling 6 spots to #18.  The Cougars split a home and home with Charleston Southern before going to 1st place Elon and dropping 2 of 3………San Jose St (23-14) also struggled going 2-3 on week and dropping 5 spots to #20.  San Jose St picked up a win over San Fransico Tuesday but lost 3 of 4 at New Mexico St.

Florida International (22-16) moves up 2 spots to #19 taking 2 of 3 from Louisiana……Western Kentucky (24-13) slides up 1 spot to #21 with a 4-1 week, winning at Austin Peay, vs Murray St and winning 2 of 3 from Arkansas St…….Samford (23-14) also jumps up one spot to #23 traveling to a previous hot App St and taking 2 of 3.

2 teams dropped out of the top 25 this week.  #20 Kent St (23-12) dropped out even after a 3-2 week.  The Golden Flashes won 2 mid week games vs Youngstown St but then travel to C. Michigan (18-18) and dropped 2 of 3.  Kent St stud Andrew Chafin pitched 8 innings 4 hits 1 run 0 BB and 13 Ks on Friday but Central Michigan  won 2-1 scoring a run in btm 8th and one in btm 9th……..#23 Louisiana (20-16) also dropped out going 2-3 on week.  The Ragin’ Cajuns beat McNeese St on Tuesday and lost at NW St on Wednesday before losing 2 of 3 at FIU.

There were 2 clubs that stood out this week that entered the top 25 and both from the Southland.  Stephen F. Austin (26-11) comes in at #22 with an impressive week.  The Lumberjacks won at Arkansas-Pine Bluff mid week then traveled to a very good Texas A&M CC for a big Southland series.  The Lumberjacks sure did swing the lumber this week.  Not only did they sweep TAMCC but they run ruled them in all 3 games.  14-2 on Friday, 18-8 Saturday and 15-3 on Sunday.  With the sweep they moved into a 1st place tie with Texas St at 13-5 in the SLC.(But Texas St holds tie breaker winning 2 of 3 two weeks ago).

Sam Houston St (27-12) enters poll at #24 also having a very impressive 4-0 week.  They may not have put up the #s like SFA but they also had a great week.  The Bearkats beat Houston 9-0 on Tuesday before sweeping a very solid Lamar club in SLC play.  Sam Houston has won 8 of 9 games including a 3-2 10 inning win vs Baylor last week and this weeks 9-0 win over Houston.

who figures these rankings out?u have pittsburgh 14th while there in second place and have an rpi in the 1oos and uconn is a bubble team 10-2 in the be and rpi of 78. this poll seems to be very pointless

I told you don’t let Charlotte’s record fool you. And you guys tried to defend them. They have another tough week, by Charlotte’s standards, with North Carolina Central (who’s RPI is 300, and yes that is dead last) and Fordham coming to town. Honestly, you have to laugh, you had Charlotte ahead of Elon and Coastal last week.

Did you see Collegiate Baseball had Charlotte #30 last week and they lost 2 of 3 at St Louis and are still #30 this week? So if your going to rip me go get them 🙂 LOLnnRegarding UConnnnThe reason Pitt and Louisville are ranked is because they were in the preseason rankings along with Uconn, who by the way was #2, but UCONN was horrible to start the season and dropped out. Someone’s conference record has little to nothing to do with how any rankings are done. The only time UCONN had a very good week was when they swept St Johns and at that point they still didnt have great record. nnBeside just saying they are 10-2 in the Big East at what point should they have gotten back in poll? Last week when they swept a 13-21 Villanova team and beat a 8-21 Brown team and lost to Yale? nnAlso RPI’s have nothing to do with polls or how would explain UCLA have a RPI#57 but ranked nationally at #11 in one major poll. Another example is ETSU with a RPI#28 and just got swept at Belmont should they be in top 25…dont think so and they are not even in the Mid-Major top 25.

uconn is #1 in the big east with a 10-2 conference record, and won it’s series against pitt a couple of weeks ago. so how is pitt (8-4) and l’ville (6-6) in big east play ahead of the team that is leading the same conference? makes no sense whatsoever

This poll is ridiculous….Look at teams like Dallas Baptist who have quality road wins over Rice, TCU, Ok St, Oklahoma, Washington, Wash St…..
