  • Kansas State left fielder Nick Martini tied an NCAA-record on Saturday for most consecutive games reaching base safely. After three groundouts, Martini was intentionally walked by Texas A&M’s Michael Wacha, marking the 86th consecutive game in which Martini has safely reached base via a hit, walk, or hit-by-pitch.
  • Kansas State lost to Texas A&M, 4-3, on Saturday. The loss was the seventh conference game the Wildcats has lost in Big 12 conference play, and the fifth that has been decided by one run in their opponents final at bat. Kansas State dropped a pair of extra-inning games in Austin before losing two games in Waco, one in the ninth, another with a go-ahead single in the bottom of the eighth. In today’s contest, the Aggies scored the eventual game-winning run in the top of the ninth.
  • Texas DH Lucas Kephart had a big game today, collecting five RBI in the Longhorns’ 5-2 win over Missouri. Kephart now has 11 RBI against Big 12 opponents, which ranks him first in league play.
  • The 40 game win streak for Florida State over Maryland is over. The Terps got a great start from David Carroll who allowed three hits while pitching 7.1 shutout innings even though he struggled with his control as he walked six batters. Freshman Jake Stinnett led the offense by going 2-3 with three RBI.
  • It isn’t good to have a nickname of Tigers right now as both Clemson and LSU are struggling in conference play. Clemson dropped their second straight game to North Carolina on Saturday this time by a score of 9-5 while LSU was hammered by Ole Miss 16-3. Clemson is now 14-11 overall while being 4-7 in the ACC while LSU is 19-8 and 2-6 in SEC play.
  • Stanford bounced back with a solid 22-3 victory over Washington State to even the three game series between the two schools. Brian Ragira led the offense by going 3-6 with a homer and driving in seven runs. Jordan Pries was solid on the mound as he went seven innings giving up only two runs.
