UPDATE #1 ON MARCH 8th at 2AM Eastern

The University of Georgia has put out a press release on Johnathan’s condition stating he will be moved to Shephard Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He underwent neck surgery to stabilize his spine Monday at St. Mary’s Hospital before being moved for rehab. You can check out the full statement from Georgia Media Relations by clicking here.

Georgia left fielder Johnathan Taylor suffered a neck injury during the Bulldogs 7-5 defeat against the Florida State Seminoles. On a flyball, Taylor collided head-on with center fielder Zach Cone. According to reports, Taylor laid motionless on the field and the ambulance had to drive on the field to bring him to the hospital. The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that the condition of Taylor will not be known until late Monday.

This is the second major neck injury in the last two weeks as Arizona State freshman Cory Hahn suffered a fractured neck after sliding into a New Mexico player’s knee. Hopefully, Johnathan can return to the playing field soon.
