Welcome to my yearly Pre-season college baseball top 99 (draft eligible) players. (Part 1: 99-75|Part 2: 74-50|Part 3: 25-49) This list is not meant to be a prediction of draft position, although in some sense it wont be too far off. My list is more about who I think will have more success at the next level. This is not a science. It is purely my opinion after watching video, talking to scouts and scouting some of the players personally. This is the pre-season list which in all honesty shouldn’t really even be attempted. A chunk of these players won’t even be in the story by years end and many others will need to be included. This list is purely a vehicle to make you aware of what the college landscape and the MLB draft might look like. I will do this all over again after the college season is over. 2. Gerritt Cole    UCLA – RHP
3. Taylor Jungmann    Texas – RHP
4. Matt Purke    TCU – LHP
5. George Springer    UCONN – OF
6. Sonny Gray    Vanderbilt – P
7. Jed Bradley    Georgia Tech – LHP
8. Jackie Bradley    South Carolina – OF
9. Matt Barnes    UCONN – RHP
10. Trevor Bauer    UCLA – RHP

That might be the best top 10 that I can remember in quite some time.

11. Peter O’Brien    Bethune Cookman – C   Big guy with big power. Leadership ability. I think he has a big future in store.
12. Jack Armstrong    Vanderbilt – RHP
13. Jason Esposito    Vanderbilt – 3B/SS    Nice power & defense. A pleasure to watch. Room to improve.
14. Tony Zych    Louisville – RHP    Big time FB at 94-97 with killer slider. Closer all the way.
15. Alex Meyer    Kentucky – RHP
16. Austin Wood    USC – RHP   Power FB in mid 90’s with shaky command. Future closer?
17. John Stilson    Texas A&M – RHP    FB at 94-97, decent SL and filthy CH. Could actually move up!
18. Ryan Carpenter    Gonzaga – LHP
19, Kolten Wong    Hawaii – 2B
20. Mikie Mahtook    LSU – OF   Hard-nosed baseball player that crushes the ball. Big arm and can blaze.
21. Alex Dickerson    Indiana – OF   Wow power and a nice bat.
22. Ryan Wright    Louisville – OF/2b/SS   Good power. A touch on the raw side. Nice potential.
23. Danny Hultzen    Virginia – LHP
24. Brian Goodwin    Miami Dade CC – OF
