EUGENE – Oregon head coach George Horton announced Wednesday that current camp coordinator Bryson LeBlanc has been hired as the program’s volunteer assistant coach.
LeBlanc will coach first base for the Ducks, work with the team’s outfielders and assist with Oregon’s offense.
“The Duck baseball program is very excited to announce Bryson LeBlanc as our new assistant baseball coach,” Oregon head coach George Horton said. “Bryson will be a great addition to our coaching staff as we move forward toward developing a nationally-prominent baseball program. Since Bryson was a part of our baseball staff and directed camps, most of our athletic department has become acquainted with his Bryson’s excellence as a person and administrator. His knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience in developing student-athletes will now be a great asset to our program and coaching staff.”
LeBlanc is in his third year at Oregon, and has served as the Ducks camp coordinator since the reinstatement of the program, developing Oregon’s camps and clinics from scratch.
Most recently, LeBlanc served as head coach of the expansion Cowlitz Black Bears of the West Coast League in the summer of 2010.
The New Orleans native helped usher in a new era of Oregon baseball as a volunteer assistant coach with the Ducks in 2009, before moving to his camp coordinator position full-time.
During 2009, Oregon’s outfield garnered individual awards as Curtis Raulinaitis earned Pac-10 Honorable Mention, and starting center fielder Caleb Tommasini was named to the Pac-10 All-Academic First Team.
LeBlanc earned his Master’s in Physical Education/ Exercise & Sports Science with an emphasis in Sports Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri in May of 2009.
A 2006 graduate of the University of Missouri with a degree in biological sciences, LeBlanc played baseball for Coach Tim Jamieson and the Tigers for two seasons after transferring from Delgado Community College in 2004.
As a senior, LeBlanc helped Mizzou reach the Super Regionals for the first time in school history, advancing out of Malibu as a No. 4 seed before losing to Coach Horton’s host Cal State Fullerton squad. That season, he was named Mizzou Baseball Performance Athlete of the Year.

A great addition to an already great baseball program. The Duck are a great growing program. I will enjoy watching this years season!
I love it…great hire, I bet a boy named LeBlanc from Louisiana is as bad as any of those gator hunters on Swamp People, and a kid with that kind of fire makes for an epic hire as a First Base coach, hell if you can catch a gator obviously you can remind base runners of the game situation, to move on anything on the ground, go halfway on anything in the air, and to bust it first to third on any weak grounders that sneak through. BOOM the Ducks will be flying high in Omaha with this hire.
