Top 100 Countdown: 46. BA Vollmuth (Southern Miss)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 46 with junior shortstop BA Vollmuth from Southern Mississippi. He is from Biloxi, Mississippi where he was a three year captain of the Biloxi High School baseball squad under Kevin Burdine. His senior season saw him hit .390 with six homers and 37 RBI while picking up multiple honors including being named A Clarion Ledger 1st team All-State Selection, Clarion Ledger Dandy Dozen Team and Sun Herald All-South Team. 2011 Cape Cod Baseball League Schedule Released

CAPE COD, Mass. — A continuation of the expanded playoff format and 10 seven-inning doubleheaders highlight the 2011 Cape Cod Baseball League schedule, announced this week by league commissioner Paul Galop.

The season begins on June 10 with a full slate of five games, and the league will feature five seven-inning doubleheaders on June 12 and June 19, with all 10 teams hosting one twin-bill before the start of the busy summer season in late June. Read the rest of this entry »

Villanova releases 2011 Schedule

Top 100 Countdown: 47. Tommy LaStella (Coastal Carolina)

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 47 with redshirt junior 2B Tommy La Stella from Coastal Carolina.  La Stella is from Closter, N.J.  attended St. Joes Montvale High School.  He was an All-State selection during his senior season, hitting .525 with 6 homeruns and 38 RBI.  He hit .542 with 5 home runs during his junior season. Northeastern releases 2011 Schedule

The Northeastern Huskies baseball team has released its 2011 schedule, announced as by head coach Neil McPhee.

Campbell releases 2011 Schedule

BUIES CREEK, N.C.-Home and away contests with North Carolina State, Duke, East Carolina and UNC Wilmington, along with a home series with Northwestern and a full slate of Atlantic Sun games highlight the 2011 Campbell baseball schedule.

George Washington releases 2011 Schedule

WASHINGTON, DC – George Washington baseball head coach Steve Mrowka announced that the Colonials will host 29 games at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA, as part of a 56-game 2011 schedule. Seattle University releases 2011 Schedule

College Baseball Daily continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 48 with senior RHP Cole Green from Texas. He is a native of Coppell Texas as he attended Coppell High School. Green picked up four letters under head coach Dan English as a pitcher and an outfielder. Manhattan releases 2011 Schedule

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Sixth year head baseball coach Kevin Leighton released Manhattan’s schedule for the 2011 campaign. The Jaspers’ slate features out-of-conference contests with powers from the BIG EAST, SEC, Atlantic 10 and Colonial Athletic Association, in addition to the always challenging MAAC slate.
