Former New York Yankee and Alabama outfielder Andy Phillips will return to Alabama this fall as a member of Mitch Gaspard’s coaching staff. He will fill into the opening which opened with Kyle Bunn’s resignation last week.

Phillips had an outstanding career with the Crimson Tide as an All-American in 1999. He had a career .356 batting average in his four seasons. He still holds the career hits record (322) and is in the top 10 in many offensive categories including batting average, runs, hits, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs and total bases.
