FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas baseball team recently took a break from studying for final exams to deliver Christmas presents to local children at Leverett Elementary School.

Players and coaches from the team raised more than $600 and then used those funds to go out and purchase gifts for the children. Members of the baseball team delivered the gifts to the kids on Monday, December 13.

“Our team is really excited to be able to make the holiday season a little brighter for local children,” Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn said. “It’s a great way for our kids to give back to the community. I think it’s really important for our players to be involved in activities like this.”

This marks the third straight year that the Arkansas baseball team has raised money and bought gifts for area children. The Razorbacks are involved in numerous community service projects throughout the year.
