LAS CRUCES, N.M. – New Mexico State baseball head coach Rocky Ward recently announced the addition of eight new student-athletes, as each have signed National Letters of Intent to play and attend school at NM State.

The Aggies are bringing in a couple of left-hand pitchers, four right-handers, one that can also play in the outfield, a catcher and an infielder. These student-athletes come from California, Washington, Oklahoma, Oregon, Arizona and New Mexico.

“We are happy with the signing class. We filled our needs with quality baseball players and continued to get more athletic across the board,” Ward said. “We don’t lose much off of this 2011 team, but this group of new Aggies will make us much deeper and more versatile on the mound and should be able to fill the voids left by graduating seniors.”

The Aggies start the season February 12 with the Annual Alumni Game at Presley Askew Field before opening the regular-season with a three game series against Houston Baptist Feb. 18-20.
