Cal’s Eric Jaffe to UCLA?

UPDATED AT 2:30 AM ON NOVEMBER 24th

Update #1: I have been able to confirm with an independent source that Eric Jaffe will be transferring to UCLA pending a waiver from the NCAA to be eligible this season.

According to a tweet from Keith Law of ESPN.com, Cal freshman RHP/1B Eric Jaffe is likely transferring to UCLA at the end of the semester. The Oakland (CA) native was selected in the 19th round of the 2010 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox out of Bishop O’Dowd High School. This move by UCLA adds a potent bat and an impact pitcher for the next three seasons. He will need a waiver from the NCAA to be eligible this season which is not out of the question. He will be the first of many transfers out of Cal who is disbanding their program at the conclusion of the 2011 season.
