SPARTANBURG, SC – Wofford College announced the 2011 baseball schedule today, which is highlighted by a home games against Harvard, Pittsburgh and a home-and-home series with 2010 National Champion South Carolina. Road trips to Clemson and Duke are also on the slate for head coach Todd Interdonato and his squad.
The Terriers will play a total of 54 games, including 33 contests at Russell C. King Field on the Wofford campus. The season will start on Friday, February 18 against Xavier and continue that weekend with match-ups against Iona and George Mason. The weekend beginning on Friday, February 25 will see the Terriers host Butler, Presbyterian and Dayton. A home meeting with USC Upstate on March 1 will be followed with a trip to Clemson on Wednesday, March 2. Wofford will host a weekend series against Pittsburgh beginning on March 4.
On Friday, March 11, Wofford will begin a four-game series at home against Harvard. The following Wednesday the Terriers travel to Columbia to face South Carolina, with the Gamecocks returning to Spartanburg on May 4.
The Southern Conference slate will begin on Friday, March 18 with a three-game series against Furman. After a game Wednesday, March 23 at Presbyterian, Wofford will host The Citadel for a three game series beginning Friday, March 25. The Terriers will also visit USC Upstate on March 29 and host Presbyterian on Wednesday, March 30.
In April, Wofford will have road conference series at Appalachian State (April 1-3), at Elon (April 8-10) and at Western Carolina (April 22-24). Home series against Davidson (April 15-17) and College of Charleston (April 29-May1) are also on the slate. The Terriers will play a home-and-home series with UNC Asheville (April 13 and 20) and have a road game at Duke on April 5.
Wofford will visit Georgia Southern (May 6-8) and Samford (May 13-15) before wrapping up the season with a home series against UNC Greensboro (May 20-22). The Southern Conference Tournament will be held from May 24-29 at Riley Park in Charleston, South Carolina. All dates are subject to change.
