Matt Rademacher added to Georgia Southern Coaching Staff

MattRademacherGaSouthernSTATESBORO, Ga. - Bringing professional and collegiate playing experience to Georgia Southern, Matt Rademacher joins the Eagle Baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2011 season. Rademacher served as the volunteer coach last season at Air Force and played one year of professional baseball prior to becoming a coach.

“I am very excited about the addition of Matt Rademacher to our staff,” said Head Coach Rodney Hennon.  “We were looking for a quality catching instructor to complete our staff and Matt carries the experience in both coaching and playing that we were looking for.  He is a very energetic, young coach who will be an asset to our program.”

Louisville releases 2011 Schedule

GabrielShawLOUISVILLE, Ky. – Thirty home games at Jim Patterson Stadium, a spring break trip to southern California and a second straight appearance in the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge highlight the 2011 University of Louisville baseball schedule released on Thursday by head coach Dan McDonnell.

The Cardinals, who won their second straight BIG EAST regular season title and a school record 50 games overall last season, will face a challenging road schedule in 2011. The slate includes five of the Cardinals’ nine BIG EAST Conference series and two of their non-conference weekends to be away from the friendly confines of Jim Patterson Stadium. Louisville will also play 12 games overall against teams which advanced to an NCAA Regional in 2010.

Georgia State releases 2011 Schedule

GeorgiaStateATLANTA – The Georgia State baseball team will open the 2011 season with nine straight games in the state of Georgia, including seven at home as announced by head coach Greg Frady on Thursday. The Panthers unveiled the entire schedule that will feature 32 home games, with a goal of returning to the CAA Championship for a third straight year.

After back-to-back trips to the CAA Championship and a school-record 73 wins over the last two years, the journey back to the NCAA Regionals will begin on February 18th against Texas Southern in Panthersville.

Western Carolina releases 2011 Schedule

BobbyMorandaWesternCarolinaCullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina and fourth-year head coach Bobby Moranda today unveiled the 2011 Catamount baseball schedule which will open at home on February 18. The 56-game regular season schedule includes 29 home dates at the renovated Childress Field / Hennon Stadium with 24 road games and the hosting of an early-season, neutral site tournament in Forest City, N.C.

The 2011 season will culminate with the annual Southern Conference Baseball Tournament at Joseph P. Riley Park, along the banks of the Ashley River in Charleston, S.C., May 25-29.

Justin Garcia joins New Orleans Coaching Staff

JustinGarciaNEW ORLEANS – Former University of New Orleans pitcher Justin Garcia has returned to the Lakefront to serve as an assistant coach on Bruce Peddie’s staff, the athletic department formally announced on Wednesday.

Garcia’s primary responsibility will be to serve as the pitching coach, while also assisting with recruiting.

Top 100 Countdown: 79. Dusty Robinson (Fresno State)

January 25, 2010; Baseball Mugs and staged shots 2010 seniorsThe CBB continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 79 with Fresno State’s Dusty Robinson. He is a 5’11 190 pound outfielder from Bakersfield California and attended Centennial High School where he was a three-time letterwinner. As a senior, he was named the SWYL MVP after hitting 16 homers and also was named All-League and All-Area.

Kent State releases 2011 Schedule

KentStateBaseballKENT, Ohio – Seventh-year Kent State head baseball coach Scott Stricklin announced the program’s 2011 schedule today (Oct. 21).

The 55-game slate features contests against two 2010 NCAA Tournament qualifiers and trips to six different states. KSU will play 21 games from the friendly confines of Olga A. Mural Field at Schoonover Stadium and 34 contests on the road.

USF’s Baseball Stadium Construction Progress

Lelo-PradoRonan O’Shea of South Florida Media Relations recently checked in on the progress of the new Bulls Baseball Stadium which is expected to open in the spring. The baseball stadium is expected to include new step-down team dugouts, bullpens, covered batting cages, multiple party pavilions, a press box and a 1,500 seat spectator grandstand with a shade canopy, an elevated, shaded entertainment or hospitality deck and service amenities. The overall capacity of the stadium is expected to exceed 3,000 and is being designed to accommodate additional seating that will enable USF to host NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals. Liberty releases 2011 Schedule

LibertyScheduleThe Liberty baseball team has released its 2011 schedule, which includes 11 games against 2010 NCAA Tournament teams and 27 home contests.

The Flames are coming off one of the best seasons in the history of the program, posting a school-record 42 wins in 2010.
Liberty will open its fourth season under head coach Jim Toman with a four-game series at Mercer in Macon, Ga., on Feb. 18. The Bears won the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament last season.

TCU releases 2011 Schedule

Lamar vs TCUFORT WORTH, Texas - TCU baseball head coach Jim Schlossnagle announced the 2011 schedule Wednesday. The 56-game slate features 33 home games as well as 15 contests against teams that participated in the NCAA tournament in 2010. The 2011 season will kick off Feb. 18 at home against Kansas.

The Horned Frogs are coming of their most successful season in school history after advancing to their first-ever College World Series. TCU returns 19 letterwinners from 2010, including all three members of the starting rotation and seven of the nine starters in the field.

Wake Forest releases 2011 Schedule

SOF-052210-1422.JPGWINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A season-opening series at 2009 national champion LSU and 29 games at the newly renovated Wake Forest Baseball Park highlight the 2011 schedule, as announced on Tuesday by head coach Tom Walter.

The Deacs will again face one of the toughest schedules in the country in 2011, playing 28 games against teams that advanced to the 2010 NCAA Tournament. In Atlantic Coast Conference play, the Demon Deacons open with seven straight series against teams that reached the postseason last year.
