Tulane releases 2011 Schedule

NickPeppitoneTulaneNEW ORLEANS - As the calendar changes to October, the Tulane baseball team is getting ready to ramp up fall practice. The Green Wave and head coach Rick Jones have also announced their 2011 schedule, which features 38 homes games hosted inside Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, 18 contests on the road and the Conference USA Tournament at Trustmark Park in Jackson, Miss.

Top 100 Countdown: Number 99 Kyle Simon (Arizona)

KyleSimonArizonaThe CBB continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 99 with Arizona junior Kyle Simon who is a 6’5 and 210 pounder right handed pitcher. He is originally from Los Alamitos California while he attended Los Alamitos High School. He was named All-Sunset league in his junior and senior season. During his junior year, he went 7-2 leading the team to a Sunset League Championship.

Texas State Releases 2011 Schedule

player_2307227San Marcos, Texas – The Texas State baseball team released its 2011 schedule on Monday that features 55 games, 31 of which will be played in San Marcos at the Bobcat Baseball Stadium. The Bobcats will be on the road for 24 games, including trips to the University of Texas, TCU, Arkansas and Texas A&M.

Nicholls State Baseball Coaching Staff

LBSU Dirtbags continue to produce in Majors

LongBeachStateLogoLong Beach State alums have always had a ton of success at the MLB level and it has continued during the 2010 MLB season where 17 players saw action in at least one game. The 17 players was the highest for any college program this past season from superstars like Evan Longoria to Bobby Cramer.

Texas releases 2011 Schedule

AugieGarridoTexasThe Texas Longhorns have released their 2011 schedule which is highlights with a trip to Hawaii and games against opponents from the ACC and Pac-10.

They will open the season on February 18th against the University of Maryland as they will play four games in three days in Austin. The following weekend, they will fly to WAC champion Hawaii for a three game set in Honolulu on February 25th-27th. After a mid-week game against UT-Arlington, they will host the Stanford Cardinal for a three game set on March 4th-6th. The last non-conference series before the start of conference play is the Brown Bears who head down to Austin for a four game set from March 11th-13th.

Top 100 Countdown: Number 100 Matt Andriese (UC-Riverside)

DV IMAGEThe CBB kicks off our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We start off the countdown today at number 100 with UC-Riverside RHP Matt Andriese. He is a junior from Redlands California where he attended Redlands East Valley High School. His high school days saw him earned three letters under Steve Hernandez. He help lead the Wildcats to a back to back Citrus Belt Championships in 2007 and 2008. Matt was named all-league in each of his three seasons while being named All-CIF during his final two seasons. In his senior campaign, he went an outstanding 9-2 with a 0.82 ERA which led to him being selected by the Texas Rangers in the 37th round.

VMI releases 2011 Schedule

VMIPhoto LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI baseball has announced its 2011 schedule, a slate of games which includes a three-game, season-opening set at Florida State and a two-game series against Oregon State. The Keydets will take on five 2010 NCAA Regional teams in all, including Bucknell, Coastal Carolina and Virginia.

The Keydets will open the year in Tallahassee, Fla., taking on the Seminoles in a three-game weekend set Feb. 18-20. Florida State comes off a very strong year, one which saw them advance to the College World Series and lose only one game en route to Omaha. The Keydets have never beaten Florida State, going winless in 14 all-time meetings, the last of which came in 2005.

Fordham joins URI to Raise Money for Autism

Autism Bronx, N.Y. – On Saturday, the Fordham Rams and Rhode Island Rams won’t be opponents on the baseball diamond, but will join forces in raising funds for the Autism Project of Rhode Island, as a part of the 2010 Walk for Autism Now event at Colt State Park in Rhode Island.
