FROM CBB NEWS SOURCE

PaulMolitorMinnesotaThe University of Minnesota will announce that former Golden Gopher great Paul Molitor has agreed to be the chairman of the Siebert Field Legacy Campaign on Saturday, Oct. 30 during the Minnesota-Ohio State football game.

Molitor’s duties as campaign chairman will include donor communications, media appearances and representing the campaign at special events. The Siebert Field Legacy Campaign has now raised half of the $7.5 million necessary for the renovation project.

The objective of the campaign is to build a new baseball facility on the site of the current Siebert Field, which was constructed in 1971. This project is a multi-use venue that will accommodate the needs of Gopher baseball, provide benefits to sports using adjacent facilities, enhance the experience of fans and visitors and serve as an important resource for amateur baseball in Minnesota. The campaign began last spring with a lead gift of $2 million from the Pohlad family.
