Top 100 Countdown: 83. Cameron Seitzer (Oklahoma)

CameronSeitzerOklahomaHeadshotThe CBB continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 83 with Oklahoma junior infielder Cameron Seitzer. He is a 6-4 and 210 pounds from Overland Park, Kansas and attended Blue Valley West High School. In high school he was a three-year letterwinner under head coach Bill McDonald. As a senior, he hit. 432 with 24 RBIs, 14 doubles and three homers while being named first team all-state, first team all-metro and all-conference in 2008. He had a career .520 batting average with 87 RBIs, 39 doubles and 10 homers.

His freshman season in 2009 saw him appear in 37 games (25 starts) while hitting .307 with four homers and 21 RBI before having his season cut short with a broken left wrist on April 22nd. He came CameronSeitzerOklahomaback with a strong sophomore season as he played in 66 games (63 starts) with a .305 average, 16 homers, and 53 RBI as the team was able to make the College World Series. He spent the summer of 2010 with the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Baseball League. He ended up hitting .253 with a homer and 16 RBI.
