Ziomek impresses at Vandy

KevinZiomekAmherstFreshman LHP Kevin Ziomek of Vanderbilt impressed over the weekend against the Texas Longhorns as the two programs got together for a couple of scrimmages. On Friday, Ziomek tossed three innings giving up five hits. In his outing, he was in the low 90’s which he featured at Amherst (MA) high school as he brought them to the state title game.

I have spoken to several scouts in the Northeast and they thought he had the potential to be a top three round selection in the 2010 MLB Draft but ended up dropping due to the fact he had sign with Vanderbilt. The Commodores signees have been an extremely difficult sign for MLB clubs over the last couple of years.
