JabariHenryFIUThe CBB continues our countdown to the start of the 2011 College Baseball season by checking in on the Top 100 Players in the country. We will be providing one player per day until we reach number 1.

We continue the countdown today at number 98 with Florida International sophomore outfielder Jabari Henry. He is a 6’1 and 200 pounds from Orlando Florida where he attended Olympia High School. In high school, he was named the 23rd best player in the state of Florida and 124th in the country by Perfect Game. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 39th round but he decided to attend Florida International University.

Henry had a solid freshman campaign in 2010 which saw him playing in 49 games starting 43 of them. He ended up finishing the year with a .311 batting average with 12 homers and 53 RBI. He also had a slugging percentage of .599. The end of the season was cut short as he suffered a strained muscle which limited his time in the conference tournament and also in the NCAA Tourney. His only at-bat in the Coral Gables Regional was a homer off of Barret Loux who was the sixth pick in the 2010 MLB Draft. He was named the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year and picked up several Freshman All-American awards from Baseball America, Louisville Slugger, and NCBWA.
