JimFosterURIKINGSTON, R.I. – On Saturday, Oct. 2, the Rhode Island baseball team took part in the 2010 Southern New England Walk Now for Autism Speaks event, held at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I. It marked the fourth consecutive year that the Rams participated in the walk.

Making the event even more special for Rhody head coach Jim Foster – whose daughter Delaney is affected by Autism – was the support received from Atlantic 10 rivals Dayton and Fordham. Both clubs made contributions to the cause on behalf of URI Baseball/Delaney Foster.

“I’m extremely grateful to Nick Restaino at Fordham and Tony Vittorio at Dayton for their generosity in supporting something that is so important to my family,” said Foster. “Its a special thing when you can set aside the rivalries and come together for a greater cause. I’m just so appreciative of what both of these programs have done to help us out.”
