DeLand, Fla. – The Stetson baseball program has added Matt Untiet to replace former Hatter standout Clint Chrysler who was hired by Winthrop University as their new pitching coach.
Georgia Tech looks to rebound after a disappointing end to the 2010 season, where they were a national seed coming into the NCAA Regionals, only to lose consecutive games to Alabama. The veteran team lost quite a few players to the MLB Draft and to graudation, but look forward to rebuilding in the ACC. Brandon Thomas is one of the players who will be key for the Yellow Jackets next season, as he started 26 games as a Freshman last season. Auburn baseball coach John Pawlowski, who directed Auburn to its first Southeastern Conference Western Division title in 15 years in 2010, has been rewarded with a two-year contract extension through 2015, announced Director of Athletics Jay Jacobs.
“We’re very appreciative of what John and his staff have done with the baseball program since their arrival at Auburn,” Jacobs said. “Winning the SEC West and hosting an NCAA Regional certainly made this past season a memorable one, and we look forward to them continuing to build off the success they have achieved.”

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech has announced the hiring of Mike Kunigonis and Patrick Mason as baseball assistant coaches. Both begin their duties immediately.
Kunigonis, a former coach at Radford, Canisius and Niagara, served the past two seasons with the Virginia Tech baseball staff as a volunteer assistant coach. His duties include working with Tech’s outfielders and hitters. He will also coach third base for the Hokies.

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas head baseball coach Ritch Price announced Wednesday that the Jayhawks’ 2011 schedule has been finalized. The 55-game regular season includes 27 contests at Hoglund Ballpark, including games against Big 12 rivals Texas, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Kansas State.

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO.- The Southeast Missouri baseball team has completed its coaching staff with the recent addition of Josh Stoetzel.
Stoetzel will be a volunteer coach for the 2010-11 season. He graduated from Oswego State University where he played catcher and first base. He hit .360 in two seasons for the Division III school. This past season, Stoetzel coached at Oswego State.

MUNCIE, Ind. – First-year Ball State baseball head coach Alex Marconi announced the hiring of Jeremy Plexico as assistant coach/pitching coach for the Cardinals Tuesday afternoon. Plexico joins assistant coach Pete Milas and volunteer assistant coach Eric Van Matre on the staff for the 2011 season.
“I am very excited to have Jeremy join our coaching staff,” Marconi said. “With his playing background both in college and professionally, he has acquired the skill set to be instrumental in our pitchers’ development. He comes highly recommended from many well respected coaches in college baseball, both as a coach and as a person. I am excited to see the development of our pitching staff under his guidance.”

TAMPA – USF Head Baseball Coach Lelo Prado announced today the hiring of long-time Major League pitching coach Chuck Hernandez to fill the same position for the Bulls.
Hernandez, who returns to his Tampa roots with 31 seasons of professional experience, both as a player and coach, has helped develop 2008 Cy Young Award winner Cliff Lee, three-time American League All-Star Justin Verlander and former All-Stars Chuck Finley, Kenny Rogers and Scott Kazmir, among others, during his prolific coaching career.
