Toledo adds Jordan Becker to Coaching Staff

Collegiate Baseball’s Top 40 Recruiting Classes

LSUOmahaBound Collegiate Baseball has put out their 2010-2011 Top 40 Recruiting Classes. Leading the way is LSU with the San Diego Toreros coming in at the runners up spot. The Oregon Ducks come in at the third spot while CWS Finalist UCLA comes in at number four. Florida rounds out the top five with another strong class coming in. TCU’s Schlossnagle extended through 2016 Season

SchlossTCU FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU director of intercollegiate athletics Chris Del Conte has announced a new contract for Horned Frog baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle that extends through the 2016 season.

Schlossnagle earned 2010 National Coach of the Year honors after leading TCU to its first appearance at the College World Series, a 54-14 record and a final ranking of No. 3 in every major poll.

Fordham adds two to Coaching Staff

"I’m excited to add both Jerry and Joe to the staff. Both have collegiate and professional experience and a passion to teach. They are great fits for our program," said head coach Nick Restaino.

Texas holds Scout Day/Fall Scrimmage

TaylorJungmannTexas The Texas Longhorns were scheduled to hold a nine inning scrimmage and scout day on Sunday afternoon at UFCU Disch-Falk Field but the game was shortened by rain.

The star of the day on the mound was junior RHP Taylor Jungmann who pitched two hitless innings while allowing a walk and striking out two batters. Junior LHP Andrew McKirahan was very good on the day also as he let up two hits in two innings of work but struck out five batters while picking off a baserunner. The other star on the hill was sophomore LHP Hoby Milner who retired all six batters he faced while striking out three.

Lowell All-Americans move to Old Orchard Beach

The Lowell All-Americans were officially approved to move to Old Orchard Beach today at the NECBL monthly meeting. The move is still pending an official inspection of the Old Orchard Beach field but it is a formality as it will be up to the standards of the NECBL.

GWU Dedicates John Henry Moss Stadium/Bill Masters Field

NewFacilityGWU BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb held a special dedication ceremony Saturday afternoon to introduce a spectacular John Henry Moss Stadium and Bill Masters Field to the public.

The ceremony, which drew nearly 600 fans and alumni, honored several families and individuals who played a major financial role in the project. A special ribbon cutting kicked off the activities, with fans then pouring through Hamrick Gate into the stands.

Bill Herman added to Youngstown State Coaching Staff

YSULogo Youngstown – Youngstown State head baseball coach Rich Pasquale announced Sept. 17 that Bill Herman has joined his staff as an assistant coach.

Herman will be working with Pasquale on coaching position players. Herman was a three-time all-conference infielder at Slippery Rock, and he was an assistant coach at Shippensburg in 2010.
