Boston College adds Greg Sullivan Coaching Staff

GregSullivanNewberry Greg Sullivan, who spent four seasons as the head coach at Newbury College, has been named an assistant coach for the Boston College baseball team.

Sullivan comes from Wofford College where he was recently named an assistant coach in June.

Jeff Christy added to Wichita State Coaching Staff

Christy, a native of Lincoln, Neb., spent the 2010 season as a catcher for the Wichita Wingnuts.

Dailey The defending Southeastern Conference Western Division champion Auburn baseball team will play 26 games against teams that made the 2010 NCAA Tournament as the team released the 2011 schedule on Thursday. Auburn will play a total of 33 games at home, beginning with the season-opener against Arkansas State on Friday, Feb. 18 at 6pm.

Keith Komeiji added to Pacific Coaching Staff

"We’re excited to be able to add someone to our staff with the experience that Keith has," Sprague said. "He’s a tremendous addition which should really help the development of our catching corps."

Duke to add former Bates head coach Edwin Thompson to Coaching Staff

EdwinThompsonBates According to multiple sources, former Bates College head baseball coach Edwin Thompson will be named an Assistant Coach at Duke. In two years at Bates, Thompson compiled a 37-33 record. The Bobcats finished 12-22 in 2009, then set a school record for victories by going 25-11 (6-6 in conference) last spring.

Columbia completes Upgrades to Robertson Field

SatowField NEW YORK – Columbia’s baseball facility will be one of the best in the Ivy League once upgrades are completed to Robertson Field at Satow Stadium.

Satow Stadium, named in recognition of the generosity of 2010 Varsity C Athletics Alumni Award recipient Phillip M. Satow ’63CC, upgrades the Columbia baseball venue into one of the best in the Ivy League, if not the Northeast. The project includes new seats behind home plate and the expansion of seating down the first base line, construction of a new home (Columbia) dugout, installation of a new multimedia scoreboard and a new press box.

P.J. Finigan added to Southern Illinois Coaching Staff

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Southern Illinois head baseball coach Dan Callahan announced Tuesday that the Salukis have hired P.J. Finigan as the new assistant coach in charge of the SIU pitching staff.

Finigan, who was an infielder/pitcher for the Salukis from 2002-05, was the 2005 Joe Carter Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year. He was a seventh-round draft pick of the Detroit Tigers and pitched for four seasons in its system.

Pepperdine releases 2011 Schedule

MALIBU, Calif. – Pepperdine won’t have to wait until 2012 to get West Coast Conference newcomer Brigham Young University on its schedule because the Cougars will be heading west to Eddy D. Field Stadium at the end of March.

The widely anticipated three-game series between two of the nation’s most prominent private faith-based institutions will take place Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 31 to April 2. Pepperdine and BYU have faced each other once in the last decade – a 5-0 road victory for BYU in February of 2004 – but regularly battled throughout the 1950′s and 1960′s with the Waves winning 13 of 18 meetings.
