JustinHaywoodODU NORFOLK,VA -Old Dominion University head baseball coach Nate Goulet name Justin Haywood volunteer assistant coach. Haywood is a 2005 graduate of nearby Hickory High School.

“We are thrilled to have Justin join our coaching staff. He will work primarily with the catchers and Outfielders and assist with our hitters. Coming from the University of Louisville he brings a wealth Of knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for the game of baseball. He will be a great addition to our program.” – ODU head coach Nate Goulet.

Haywood performed duties as assistant administrator for the 2009 USA Collegiate Baseball team. as a collegian, Haywood played for the University of Louisville who won two BIGEAST Tournament Championships, made four NCAA regional appearances, two Super Regional Appearances and the 2007 College World Series. Twice Haywood was named to the AD Honor Roll and BIGEAST Academic All-Star.

At Hickory, Haywood played in the 2004 Big League World Series for US South as they placed fifth. He was also captain on the Hickory High basketball team as a senior.

Haywood graduated with a B.S. degree in sport management from the University of Louisville.
