Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon was honored by Lafayette with an Honorary Doctorate degree on Thursday night. Maddon dropped out of Lafayette 35 years ago and ended up working his way up to being the manager of the Tampa Bay Rays. He was originally recruited as a football player but ended up being a two sport athlete as he starred on the baseball diamond at second base.
