St. Petersburg’s Dave Pano Resigns

DavePano The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that longtime St. Petersburg College baseball coach Dave Pano has resigned after offering an improper scholarship to a student-athlete. Coach Pano had accumulated a 392-180-1 over 13 seasons. In 2005, he led the school to its first state title and a second-place finish at the JUCO World Series.

This past season, he helped oversee the development of fourth round selection Austin Wood who failed to sign with teh Tampa Bay Rays and will be playing next season for the USC Trojans.
