Collazo Photo South Florida pitching coach Lazer Collazo has resigned according to an article from the USF Oracle. Collazo has spent the last four years as a member of Lelo Prado’s South Florida staff. Before heading to South Florida, he spent time with Prado at Louisville.

Collazo stated the following on his departure:

“It’s been 26 years that it’s always been about me. It’s time to dedicate time to my wife and kids,”

Coach Prado talked about Lazer’s departure saying:

“He did a good job for us. We wish him and his family the best of luck, We have a lot of guys who will miss him. Lazer brought a lot of energy to the team, but it’s over and we have to move on.”

It should be interesting to see who gets this job as South Florida is a program on the rise with an upgraded facility set to open at the beginning of the 2011 season. You can check out the full article from The Oracle by clicking here.
