GagnonLBSU Here is your Cape Cod Baseball League Recap for July 3rd. There was a blowout tonight at the Bourne Braves defeated Falmouth 17-3 as Tennessee’s Steven Gruver gave up 10 runs (five earned) and nine hits in only 2.1 innings. The best night at the plate was by Matt Newman from Arizona State as he went 3-4 with a double for the Orleans Firebirds. Andy Burns from Kentucky also had a solid night for Brewster as he went 2-2 with 3 RBI. There was no real outstanding performances on the mound with Andrew Gagnon from Long Beach State going seven innings, giving up five hits, and one run while striking out 8 as his Brewster Whitecaps defeated Orleans 6-2. Nice to see the Braves hanging on to first place. I think its going to a Braves vs Brewster Championship Game.
