Old Dominion’s Jerry Meyers set to become Pitching Coach at South Carolina
According to a report by TheBigSpur.com, Jerry Meyers will be the next pitching coach at South Carolina. Meyers has served the past six seasons as the head coach at Old Dominion where he had mixed success accumulating a record of 167-158 with his best finish coming in 2006 when they finished second in the conference.

LeMoyne moving to Division 2

SYRACUSE, NY – LeMoyne College has announced its intention to reclassify its baseball program from Division I to Division II effective August 1, 2011. The College will follow the defined NCAA reclassification process, with the intent to compete alongside its 16 other programs as a member of the Division II Northeast-10 Conference.

Scouting the 2010 Cape Cod All-Star Game
Frankie Piliere of Fanhouse.com attended the 2010 Cape Cod All-Star Game to take a look at all the talent in the game. He has some great information on some of the players in the game and who was the most impressive. The two pitchers in his mind that looked good were R.J. Alvarez and Tony Zych who both reached the upper 90’s with their respective fastballs.
LSU releases 2011 Schedule
The LSU Tigers have posted their 2011 schedule which features 56 games including 37 games played at Alex Box Stadium. They will open the 2011 campaign with a three game set against Wake Forest in Baton Rouge from February 18-20. After a mid-week game against New Orleans on February 22nd, the Tigers will host the Holy Cross Crusaders from the Patriot League for a three game set. The following weekend, LSU will host Princeton for three games from March 4th-6th. The best non-conference series for LSU comes the weekend of March 11th-13th when the Cal-State Fullerton Titans make the trip east.
Team USA defeats Sri Lanka 15-0 in five innings
Tokyo, Japan – Sonny Gray (Vanderbilt) struck out a career-best 14 batters setting a new USA FISU single-game record as the Collegiate National Team (CNT) used the 15-run rule after five innings to record its first win at the V FISU World University Championships Friday afternoon over Sri Lanka, 15-0 at Utsumi Shimaoka Ball Park. Ten Special College Baseball Coaches in 2010
Kendall Rogers of Rivals.com recently put out an article profiling the best ten coaching jobs over the past year. He names both Ray Tanner from South Carolina and John Savage from UCLA who faced off in the CWS Championship Series which was won by the Gamecocks two games to none. He also includes Peter Hughes (Virginia Tech), Jim Schlossnagle (TCU), Tim Esmay (Arizona State), Kevin O’Sullivan (Florida), John Pawlowski (Auburn), Jim Penders (UConn), Sunny Golloway (Oklahoma), and George Horton (Oregon).
2010 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Game Recap
The Cape Cod Baseball League hosted the 2010 All-Star Game at Fenway Park on Wednesday evening. The Western Division picked up a 5-0 victory over the East behind a strong pitching performance from the Western Division All-Stars.
