OuPile CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Oklahoma is headed back to the College World Series.

The No. 11 Sooners (49-16) knocked off No. 1 Virginia, 11-0, on Monday in the third game of the Charlottesville Super Regional to add the program’s 10th CWS appearance to the record books.

The 10 trips ranks in a tie for 13th all-time among all DI programs. The Sooners last appearance was in 1995, one year after clinching the program’s second national title in 1994. OU’s other trips to Omaha include 1992, 1976, 1975, 1974, 1973, 1972 and 1951.

"It’s surreal. We’re going to Omaha, the last year in Rosenblatt," said OU Head Coach Sunny Golloway, who coached as an assistant on OU’s staff during the program’s last three trips to the CWS. "We are looking forward to pulling up on the bus and seeing the statue and being a part of the last year in Rosenblatt Stadium."
