Oklahoma evens series with Virginia

OklahomaReine CHARLOTTESVILLE - Oklahoma topped Virginia 10-7 in Game 2 of the Charlottesville Super Regional on Sunday at Davenport Field to force a decisive Game 3 on Monday. The Cavaliers and Sooners will meet at 7 p.m. Monday for a trip to the College World Series in Omaha. The game will be televised live on ESPN2.

Oklahoma used three home runs, two by Cody Reine, to down Virginia and keep its season alive. Reine finished the day going 2-for-3 with five RBIs to lead the Sooners.

Virginia (51-13) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Phil Gosselin led off with a single and scored on Dan Grovatt’s double to the right-centerfield gap. Jarrett Parker’s two-out double drove in Grovatt, before Parker was thrown out at third trying to stretch it into a triple to end the inning.
