Norwich Regional Report Game 3: UConn vs Central Connecticut State

In the first game of the second day of the Norwich Regional. The UConn Huskies faced off against the Central Connecticut Blue Devils. UConn entered the game with a 47-15 record while Central Connecticut State enters with a 33-22 record. Uconn sent Elliot Glynn to the hill as he was 7-3 with a 2.66 ERA while Central Connecticut State countered with Jason Foster who was 3-2 with a 5.91 ERA.

The game would become real uninteresting quickly as UConn scored six runs in the first two innings combined with George Springer hitting a two run homer in the second inning over the center field wall for the big hit.

Springer wasn’t the only UConn batter to have a solid day as Mike Olt went a perfect 4-4 with 8 RBI while hitting two homers and scoring three runs. The Huskies really cruised the entire game as the Central Connecticut staff couldn’t get anyone out. UConn ended up winning the game 25-5 as the Huskies scored 17 combined runs from the fourth-sixth innings to really blow the lead wide open.
