The College Baseball Blog continues our weekly countdown to the release of the 2010 NCAA Regional Brackets. The brackets are done as if the NCAA Tournament was set to begin today. We used Boyd’s World RPI which was updated through games on Sunday.  You can check out the full bracket below, which is our best projection of what the field could look like come Monday.  The College World Series Selection show will be aired at 12:30 EST on ESPN.

I believe it would be very interesting to rank teams that are in the regionals relative to whether they are “fully funded” programs. Additionally, fascinating to see fully funded teams like North Carolina sitting home (or we will know by lunch today watching ESPN if your correct this morning.) Some very interesting results would come from your study on this topic and we could draw some real conclusions about the schools, programs, coaching staff, etc. from such a study.
Interesting that you have left Arizona out, but have taken Texas St. and Elon. I think Florida Gulf Coast gets in only because people want to see Chris Sale. I think there would have been a cry from the committee to possible sneak FIU in also if they didn’t get the automatic bid. With the attention that Wittels is getting.
Some of your regionals seem very loaded while others seem very light.
Light-Especially USC and Arkansas. For all purposes Arkansas has been dealt a high 2 seed and two 4 seeds. South Carolina is see as a high #3 in Wash St, Elon a team I have out and a #4. Elon at best is the second to last team in, so about the 45th team.
