Jackson State 3 Mississippi State 1

PEARL, Miss. – When it comes to playing baseball teams from the Southeastern Conference, there are many teams across the country that would enter those contests at a perceived disadvantage. Coming into Tuesday night’s game against Mississippi State, Jackson State was no different.

But the Tigers came in to the contest playing their best ball of the season, and it showed in the final result. JSU scored twice in the sixth inning to break a 1-all tie and Cortney Nelson and Quintavious Drains combined on a three-hitter as Jackson State downed Mississippi State 3-1 at Trustman Park.
