DURHAM, N.C. – The No. 1-ranked Virginia baseball team finished off a three-game series sweep of Duke Sunday afternoon with a 10-6 victory over the Blue Devils at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C. Virginia won its 10th-consecutive game while pushing its ACC win streak to six.
Virginia (39-9, 18-6 ACC), after taking all three games from Maryland last week, has swept back-to-back ACC road series for the first time since sweeping Duke (April 2-4) and Maryland (April 16-18) in 2004. It was Virginia’s first back-to-back ACC sweeps since doing so in home series versus Boston College (March 21-23) and Virginia Tech (March 28-30) in 2008.
#4 Georgia Tech 5 NC State 3
RALEIGH, N.C. – Jed Bradley scattered three runs – two earned – over 6.0 innings, and Matt Skole drove in four runs at the plate to lead No. 4 Georgia Tech over NC State, 5-3, in the series finale Sunday at Doak Field.
The Jackets improved to 36-9 overall and 17-7 in the Atlantic Coast Conference with the win. NC State falls to 28-18 and 11-13 in ACC play.
"We played much better defensively today," Head coach Danny Hall said. "We didn’t walk too many guys, and we didn’t give them a chance to put pressure on us. Anytime we don’t walk guys and we play good defense, we have a great chance to win."

#8 Florida State 17 LeMoyne 1
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Fourth-ranked Florida State (33-11) came through with some early clutch two-out hitting and then ran away late with 10 runs in the seventh and eighth innings to take the rubber game of the series against Le Moyne (25-25) on Sunday 17-1.
The Seminoles out hit the Dolphins 10-6 in the series finale, while drawing 14 walks to tie a season-high. FSU also set a season-high swiping eight bases on Sunday including six in the Seminoles’ five-run third.
Six of the seven runs scored by the Seminoles in the third and fourth innings came on two outs.
#14 Miami FL 9 Maryland 1
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 11th-ranked University of Miami baseball team completed its three-game sweep of Maryland this weekend, winning 9-1 Sunday afternoon at Alex Rodriguez Park. Four Miami pitchers combined to allow just one unearned run, with Travis Miller picking up the win in four innings of relief work.
Miami improved to 34-11 overall and 18-6 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, winning its 14th straight home game and 11th straight home game against a conference foe.

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech scored four runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good and complete a three-game Atlantic Coast Conference baseball sweep of Boston College with a 10-5 win at English Field on Sunday. The sweep was the Hokies’ first conference sweep of the season and just their second overall since joining the ACC in 2004-05.
The Hokies are now 32-14 overall and 14-10 in conference play. BC fell to 24-20 and is now all even in the ACC at 12-12.

Game 1: #23 Clemson 9 Florida Gulf Coast 3
Clemson, SC – The #25 Clemson Tigers scored in six of their eight innings at the plate in a 9-3 win over Florida Gulf Coast in the first game of a doubleheader at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers, who evened the series 1-1, improved to 26-17, while the Eagles dropped to 28-14. It was also Jack Leggett’s 750th career win as Clemson’s head coach.
Tiger starter Scott Weismann (4-2) earned the win in 5.0 innings pitched. He allowed five hits, three runs, and three walks with five strikeouts. Tomas Cruz pitched 4.0 scoreless innings to record his second save of the year. Weismann and Cruz combined to strand 11 runners on base.
Game 2: #23 Clemson 7 Florida Gulf Coast 6
Clemson, SC – Jeff Schaus’ two-out single in the eighth inning gave the Tigers the lead and Alex Frederick retired all five batters he faced in #25 Clemson’s 7-6 win over Florida Gulf Coast in the second game of a doubleheader in front of 4,745 fans at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Sunday. The Tigers, who took a 2-1 series lead and won both games of the doubleheader on Sunday, improved to 27-17. The Eagles fell to 28-15.
The Eagles held a 4-2 lead before Clemson scored three runs in the seventh inning to take a 5-4 lead. Florida Gulf Coast capitalized on a Tiger error in the top of the eighth to score two runs and regain the lead. But the Tigers rallied for the second inning in a row in the bottom of the eighth and scored two runs, capped by Schaus’ go-ahead single.
