FAYETTEVILLE – With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 11th inning, pinch hitter Tom Hauskey delivered his second-game winning hit of the season to send the No. 7 University of Arkansas baseball team to a 4-3 win over New Mexico Tuesday night at Baum Stadium. The Razorbacks trailed by two runs in the 10th inning and completed their come-from-behind victory with Hauskey’s base hit to right field.

"(Hauskey) handles the situation," head coach Dave Van Horn said. "He doesn’t try to do too much. He just takes what the pitcher gives him and he’s done a great job for us."

#8 Florida State 3 #9 Florida 2

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – In a game that featured a bizarre turn of events even before the first pitch was thrown, sixth-ranked Florida State (26-7) did not allow a power outage to get the best of them on Tuesday night defeating seventh-ranked Florida (23-9) 3-2 on Mike Martin Field inside Dick Howser Stadium.

"To say that is a happy clubhouse is an understatement," said head coach Mike Martin. "There are a lot of baseball games played in this yard and that one was about as well played by both teams. You saw outstanding pitching on both sides."

In front of a packed crowd of 6,526, the largest crowd of the season and eighth largest crowd all-time, the Seminoles scored early and received an outstanding pitching performance from freshman Scott Sitz to notch their third victory over the Gators this year, while clinching the regular season series taking three out of four from UF.

#18 Vanderbilt 1 Middle Tennessee State 0

NASHVILLE — A trio of Vanderbilt hurlers combined on a six-hit shutout to lead the Commodores to a 1-0 win over Middle Tennessee Tuesday night at Hawkins Field.

Senior right-hander Drew Hayes threw 6.2 innings of four-hit baseball, striking out four and walking two to pick up the win and move to 4-0 on the year. Junior southpaw Richie Goodenow recorded the final out in the seventh and junior right-hander Russell Brewer threw two innings of two-hit relief with five strikeouts to pick up his fifth save of the year.

"Both our pitching and defense are performing with confidence right now," said Vanderbilt head coach Tim Corbin. "When we talked about MTSU, we said it was like facing South Carolina again. They are a very aggressive hitting team that has strong kids in the middle of the lineup that can hit balls that leave the yard at any given time."

Memphis 6 #19 Ole Miss 5

Drew Martinez went 3-for-5, Trey Wiedman drove in three runs and Ryan Fraser closed the door with a scoreless ninth as Memphis upended 15th-ranked Ole Miss, 6-5, in non-conference action Tuesday night at AutoZone Park. The win snapped a streak of 13-straight losses to Ole Miss and improved the Tigers to 15-18 on the year.

The win was Memphis’ third over a top-20 team and fourth against a team ranked in the top-30. The Tigers used a healthy performance by its bullpen to clinch its first win over the Rebels since 2003. When starter Marcus Barnes was lifted after giving up three runs on four hits in just 1.2 innings, the Tiger’s stable of arms went to work and held the Rebels scoreless for the next 5.2 innings.

Tennessee 16 Lipscomb 7

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Junior Cody Hawn recorded a career-high five hits, including his sixth home run of the season, as the University of Tennessee baseball team powered its way to a 16-7 victory over Lipscomb on Tuesday night at Robert M. Lindsay Field at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

"That was certainly a long game and didn’t have a lot of rhythm to it," UT Head Coach Todd Raleigh said. "But it was good to get a win and we were able to play a lot of different guys. I thought the biggest play in the game was Cody Stubbs’ homer. We fell behind early and after that I felt like we were able to relax. It was good to see him do that because he is going to be a great player.
