No Reason to doubt the Hokies

JesseHahn I read an interesting preview of the past weekend of College Baseball action in which a national college baseball writer said there was no chance that the Virginia Tech Hokies would win the series against the Miami Hurricanes. Guess what? The Hokies ended up winning the series against the Hurricanes 2 games to 1. They have now won 4 out of their last 6 ACC games against Miami and Florida State.

Pete Hughes is really excited about the Hokies after this weekend as he told The Roanoke Times the following:

"We have more talent than they do," said coach Pete Hughes, in his fourth year at Tech. "We’ve got better pitching, a deeper lineup, more experience. We could make moves in the bullpen late in the game that they couldn’t.

"At Florida State, we had better pitching, we were the better offensive club and we played better defense.

"I can’t apologize for being better than people that we haven’t been better [than] in the past. … We paid the price for it by getting all these kids in there [when they were] young and learning from failure."
