The College Baseball Blog continues our weekly countdown to the release of the 2010 NCAA Regional Brackets. The brackets are done as if the NCAA Tournament was set to start today. We used the RPI provided by Boyd’s World. The RPI changes dramatically every week as schools get into the meat of their conference schedules. You can check out the full bracket below which is our best estimate right now.

How can you have Rutgers over Connecticut for the at large in the Big East. I suppose only time will tell at the end of the season when Big East play is over. I believe that Connecticut is a much better team than Rutgers even at this point in the season.
wow! ASU would be paired with LSU for a super!? What a slap in the face to both teams. This would be a crime to keep one of these teams out of Rosenblatt’s last year by pairing them together. Is this trying to say alabama will finish better than lsu? hey would get to play oregon state. Are these supposed to be predictions or actualities if the regional pairings came out today? The citadel will drop it they’re projections and lsu would be a higher seed unless you’re going off raw rpi which the committee doesn’t. In either case these projections are one word: Wrong.
the citadel over ga tech are u kidding me. Please start watching these teams and maybe toull have a different opinion.
The Citadel’s RPI right now is 13th while GT is 17th. GT will eventually pass The Citadel if they continue to play well.
I think if you are going to do this then you need to do a little research. All you did was go to Boydworld and look at the RPI. Teams 1-16, you gave regional host to. Teams 17-32, you made two seeds. You did manage to go in an include those teams with automatic bids, so at least we didn’t just see the top 64 RPI teams. This where it is flawed. You currently have Mississippi State in the tournament and while they have an RPI of 33 at the time you wrote the article they were 15-12 and 3-6 in conference play. Another SEC team is Alabama ranked 11th in RPI when your article was written was 4-5 and in 7th place in the SEC hardly hosting numbers. The Citadel hosting is a joke. They swept Western Carolina (32) and Appalachian State (50) and while they are decent teams they are hardly the baseball elite. They have some games with College of Charleston and one with South Carolina. This is like saying they are 9-0 against the Top 50 when a closer look shows they are 9-0 verses 48,49 and 50.
Don’t get caught up in the numbers. He took the RPI #1 and put them against #16. So that is how you have Arizona State vs. LSU. Once again it is just a copy from the numbers.
