McKagueArmy WORCESTER, Mass. – Kevin McKague collected two hits and worked out of a pair of late-inning jams on the mound to earn his fourth save of the season as Army registered a 9-7 victory over Holy Cross to earn a split of the teams’ Patriot League doubleheader, Saturday afternoon at Fitton Field. Holy Cross pounded the Black Knights 19-1 in the opener.

Clint Moore and McKague slapped RBI doubles against Holy Cross starter Matt Croglio in the bottom of the first inning of the second game, staking Army starter Kirk Porter to an early 2-0 lead. Holy Cross responded with two runs in the second inning and one in the third to forge ahead 3-2. A run-scoring double by David Darnell in the fourth leveled the score at 3-3.

Game 1: Bucknell 5 Lafayette 3
Game 2: Lafayette 14 Bucknell 13 (10 innings)

EASTON, Pa. – Bucknell and Lafayette combined for 11 home runs and each team posted a win in its final at bat as the Bison and Leopards split a Patriot League-opening doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Kamine Stadium. Bucknell snapped a six-game losing streak with a 5-3 win in game one, while Lafayette earned the split with a high-scoring 14-13, 10-inning victory in game two.

Bucknell’s Andrew Brouse posted the first two-home run game of his career in game two, while Lafayette’s A.J. Miller hit three home runs and drove in six runs in the nightcap.

Game 1: Lehigh 4 Navy 2
Game 2: Navy 9 Lehigh 7

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Navy baseball team pounded out 15 hits in Saturday’s second game to split its doubleheader against Lehigh to open Patriot League Play at Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium. The Midshipmen (18-9, 1-1 PL) won the nightcap, 9-7, prior to which the Mountain Hawks (7-15, 1-1 PL) claimed the opener, 4-2.

In game two, eight of Navy’s starters recorded a base hit and all-nine reached base safely.Andrew Hahn (So./Ellicott City, Md.) went 3-for-3 with a double and a RBI, while Michael Speciale (Sr./Pearland, Texas) finished 3-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored. Mike Guadagnini (Jr./Virginia Beach, Va.) went 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored, two RBIs and a hit by pitch. Alex Azor (So./Miami, Fla.) and Jeff Bland (Jr./Basking Ridge, N.J.) each had a pair of base knocks.
