TCBB Players of the Week (March 30th)

JakeOverstreetSouthAlabama The College Baseball Blog continues our tradition of naming a Player and Pitcher of the Week. This week we honor South Alabama third baseman Jake Overstreet and South Florida’s Randy Fontanez.

Overstreet had a great week which saw him hit at a .526 batting average (10-for-19), four home runs, 12 RBI and seven runs scored as the Jaguars went 2-2 on the week. He is now hitting .385 with six homers and 44 RBI on the year in 27 games.

Fontanez had an outstanding game on Friday night against Notre Dame. He pitched a complete game no-hitter against the Irish allowing only two walks and two catcher’s interference to account for all the baserunners for Notre Dame. He also struck out 12 batters in the game.
