Argo collects his second career weekly honor after leading Illinois to a 3-0 record last week with wins over Southeastern and Dartmouth. The sophomore went 4-for-4 against Southeastern on Tuesday, recording a double and a home run. The center fielder also scored two runs and drove in four while going 2-for-2 on the base paths. The following day in a doubleheader vs. Dartmouth, Argo went 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in Game 1 before going 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and an RBI in the nightcap. For the week, Argo batted .636, while slugging 1.182 and reaching base at a .667 clip to combine for an OPS of 1.849. The weekly honor is the second for an Illini hitter this season.

Alex Dickerson, Indiana

So., LF, Poway, Calif./Poway

Dickerson earns weekly honors after batting .611 with a 1.111 slugging percentage as Indiana went 3-1 last week. The sophomore reached base at a .632 average, posting an OPS of 1.743. The left fielder tallied multiple hits in all four games, including a four-hit performance against Morehead State on Tuesday, in which he scored three runs and drove in a pair. For the week, he collected eight RBI and scored six runs on the strength of three doubles and two home runs. The performances extended Dickerson’s hitting streak to a conference-best 16 games. The weekly accolade is Dickerson’s second overall and first this season. He is the second Hoosier to earn the award this year.

Last IND Player of the Week: Micah Johnson (March 15, 2010)

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Seth Rosin, Minnesota

Jr., RHP, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View

Rosin claims his first career Pitcher of the Week award after leading Minnesota to a 3-2 win over Louisiana Tech on Friday. The junior struck out eight batters in eight innings of work, allowing just five hits without issuing a walk. The right-hander has not given up a free pass in five of his six outings this season, and he leads the Big Ten with just two walks allowed all year. Friday’s performance marked Rosin’s third of the season in which he fanned eight or more batters, and he ranks among the Big Ten’s best in strikeouts (33) and opponents’ batting average (.234). The honor is the first for a Golden Gopher pitcher this season.
