The College Baseball Blog continues our weekly countdown to the release of the 2010 NCAA Regional Brackets. The brackets are done as if the NCAA Tournament was set to start today. I ended up using Boyd’s World RPI which was updated through games on Tuesday as that was the latest available. The RPI changes dramatically every week especially before some of the schools start the conference campaign. You can check out the full bracket below which is our best estimate right now.

No offense, but just ranking the top 16 by RPI is a big cop out. I realize that the NCAA relies way too much on the RPI rankings, but to seriously claim that The Citadel and College of Charleston are going to be number 1 seeds is a little ridiculous. It’s fun to see these projections, but they aren’t useful if there isn’t some “projection” involved.
Yeah, I mean, Georgia Tech as a 3-seed??? Really?
GT doesn’t have that many “quality” wins yet. Even in the ACC, they are 5-1 against Wake Forest and Maryland. Both of those squads are expected to finish in the back of the ACC.

Clemson will be a lower next week since they will likely end up going 1-4 on the week after losing two to Elon and, I think, losing two out of three to UVA this weekend.

Connecticut from the Big East….are you kidding me? Big East starts this weekend and I believe that you will begin to see just how good South Florida is. Remember, they went through the 10 game gauntlet to start the season. Had Florida beat twice until the 9th, Oklahoma twice until the 9th and Ohio State. They are 10 innings away from being a 17 win team. The Bulls will meet Louisville once again for the Big East crown!!lol
I have seen Connecticut play this year and they have the pieces to make a run at the big east title as well as a regional appearance. They have some dynamite arms and a lot of talent in the field as well as at the plate
I believe the same thing about the Huskies. The weekend rotation is solid and the hitting just needs to come around. Springer has been struggling.
what does dallas baptist have to do to get back in the field? especially after a BIG win over TCU last Monday…
Alabama over both LSU and Arkansas, man I cannot wait until after this weekend. Is Alabama that good or will they crash like they always do in the second half of the season.

Three Pac 10 national seeds…good.
But Arizona State could be, should be, and will be number one and we all know it.
Also, if you want a “We said it first” moment, put Oregon in the top 64. Horton will get them there this year or next, and I think they’re the fifth best team in the Pac. Does the Pac’s fifth team make it? Probably not…but Oregon could finish ahead of the Tucson rats.
Where is Kansas?
On the outside looking in….The two losses to St. Louis and Tulane killed them.
What do you think about the Buccaneers of East Tennessee State? 16-7 with wins over KSU and took 2 of 3 from St. Johns. 5-1 in the conference so far. They got UNF this weekend.
