COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Junior Cole Leonida was 3-for-5 with five RBI as five different players hit a home run Sunday in Georgia Tech’s (16-2, 5-1 ACC) 10-3 win over Maryland in the series finale Sunday at Shipley Field in College Park, Md. The Jackets took the series with the win.

"I thought we had some good at-bats today," head coach Danny Hall said. "I honestly thought [Maryland’s] Sander Beck pitched very well early on, but when he did make a mistake, we went at him hard and hit a home run. Anytime you’re on the road and you get the lead, it’s a good thing. We ran at him [Beck] hard early, gave Jed Bradley a lead, and I thought he threw the ball well."

Wake Forest 4 NC State 3 (10 innings)

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest earned its first Atlantic Coast Conference win of the 2010 season, defeating NC State 4-3 in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon at Gene Hooks Field at Wake Forest Baseball Park.

The Demon Deacons improve to 7-14 and 1-5 in ACC play with the victory, while the Wolfpack fall to 14-6 and 2-4 in conference play.

With the game tied at three in the bottom of the 10th inning, the Deacs plated a run to claim the extra inning win. Carlos Lopez reached on a walk to lead off the inning. Matt Conway moved pinch runner John Stamper to second on a sacrifice bunt. Shane Kroker hit a single up the middle and Stamper was held at third to put runners on at the corners. Mike Lubanski hit a ground ball to short that appeared to be a double play ball. Shortstop Matt Bergquist flipped to second for the second out of the inning, but second baseman Chris Diaz’s throw to first was wild, allowing Stamper to score the game-winning run from third base.
