TCBB Players of the Week (March 9th)

WillOwensFurman The College Baseball Blog continues our tradition of naming Players of the Week. This week we honor Furman sophomore outfielder Will Owens and Houston RHP Michael Goodnight.

 

Will Owens had a .786 batting average (11-for-14) with three home runs, 10 RBI, and seven runs scored last week while hitting tallying 23 total bases and having a slugging percentage of 1.643. He also tied a school record by having seven consecutive hits and had an on-base percentage of .800.

Houston RHP Michael Goodnight was fantastic on Saturday against the University of Texas as the Cougars picked up a 1-0 win over the Longhorns. Goodnight went seven strong innings allowing only two hits while striking out nine batters.
