The College Baseball Blog continues our tradition of naming Players of the Week. This week we honor Furman sophomore outfielder Will Owens and Houston RHP Michael Goodnight.
Will Owens had a .786 batting average (11-for-14) with three home runs, 10 RBI, and seven runs scored last week while hitting tallying 23 total bases and having a slugging percentage of 1.643. He also tied a school record by having seven consecutive hits and had an on-base percentage of .800.
Houston RHP Michael Goodnight was fantastic on Saturday against the University of Texas as the Cougars picked up a 1-0 win over the Longhorns. Goodnight went seven strong innings allowing only two hits while striking out nine batters.
