2010 Big Ten Baseball Television Schedule

BigTenNetworkLogo CHICAGO – The Big Ten Network has nearly doubled its coverage plans for the Big Ten’s baseball and softball seasons. The network will produce at least 102 baseball and softball games for the Big Ten Network or www.BigTenNetwork.com this spring.

The network will nationally televise up to 33 Big Ten baseball games, including the entire Big Ten Baseball Tournament, and stream an additional 20 games for www.BigTenNetwork.com. Twenty Two Big Ten softball games will be televised this spring, plus an additional 29 games for the internet. A selected number of streamed games will be televised on delay through the network’s Student U initiative.

2010 Big 12 Preseason Coaches Poll

TexasBig12Champs Texas has been named the preseason favorite to win the 2010 Big 12 regular-season crown in a vote of the league’s head coaches. The Longhorns are ranked No. 1 in all four of the major preseason polls (Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, ESPN/USA Today Coaches’ and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association) to start the year.

CBB Interview with Scott Stricklin (Kent State)

He is entering his sixth season in charge of the Kent State program with a career record of 183-110. He led the Golden Flashes to the NCAA Regional in Tempe, Arizona where they had a record of 1-2 with a victory over nationally ranked Cal-Poly.

AF’s Matt Alexander becomes a Star

One of the biggest stories in the audio interview is the fact that the Wolverines will have the Texas Tech Red Raiders visit Ann Arbor during the 2011 season. They also have a freshman in Derek Dennis who will start at shortstop as a true freshman after being selected in the sixth round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Justin Brown an Inspiration to JMU Baseball

JustinBrownJMU Forgive Justin Brown if his loyalties to a sports team run a little deeper than your average seven-year old. While many children his age might be quick to become attached to a professional or college team, for Justin it’s actually the Diamond Dukes of James Madison who have become quite attached to him.

“Justin has shown us that we can get through anything,” commented sophomore catcher Jake Lowery. “Getting through a tough workout is nothing compared to him fighting for his life. We are so fortunate to have the presence of Justin in our lives.”
